What is reiki?

Reiki (pronounced ray key) means universal life force energy.

Reiki aids physical healing, as well as emotional and mental wellbeing. It can help to reduce pain, stress and anxiety - harmonising both body and mind.

Reiki was was founded in Japan over 100 years ago by Mikao Usui. It is a form of holistic healing - going beyond physical symptoms to heal the whole body. It works on all aspects of a person - body, mind, emotions, and spirit. The energy works by raising vibrations and stimulating the body’s natural healing abilities.

Reiki works in conjunction with modern medicine (not as an alternative) and is a non-invasive, complementary therapy. It works differently for everyone - the effects can be felt immediately, or several days after a session.
